Wow, what a quick trip it has been to Term 4. Ms C and Mrs C are really looking forward to seeing all the bright faces tomorrow morning reading to get stuck into our last term of the year.
Please note a change in the homework for Term 4. It applies to the spelling component of the homework. Students will be expected to write five sentences using five specific words that we encounter during our week in class.
For example we may chose to investigate the word "filth". This will see the children looking up the etymology of the word during our literacy rotations. This will culminate in the students having the knowledge to use this word in context by creating a descriptive sentence. eg.
"Amanda sat sadly in the dungeon, her pale, thin cheeks smeared in filth."
This will not only develop vocabulary of the students but will support their understanding on how to use these words correctly and in context in sentences.
We would encourage you to work with your child to ensure they are completing their homework each week. A note from home is required if your child is unable to complete their homework for any reason.
The week ahead:
Tuesday – NO Choir, Student banking day, Music
Wednesday – Assembly in hall
Thursday – Library (Remember your library bags and books)
Friday – P.E.
